JAMB has confirmed that 2025 UTME results will be released once all post-examination analyses are completed. Shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on April 29, the Board urged candidates to remain patient and calm. JAMB stressed its commitment to accuracy and integrity, ensuring results are free of irregularities. No specific release date was provided yet. Post-exam checks include biometric verification, identity confirmation, malpractice screening, and centre integrity reviews. Candidates are advised to monitor JAMB’s website and official social media for verified updates and ignore fake news.

JAMB Registers Over 41,000 Underage Candidates for 2025 UTME

Over 41,027 underage candidates (below age 16) are among the 2.03 million registered for the 2025 UTME, per JAMB data. Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, reaffirmed the 16-year minimum age for admission into tertiary institutions, with exceptions for exceptional students. Underage candidates must score at least 320 out of 400 (80%) in the UTME to be considered for admission. The current age policy reverses a former 18-year minimum age set by ex-Minister Tahir Mamman. So far, 62 cases of exam malpractice have been reported. From November 2025, WAEC and NECO will begin Computer-Based Testing (CBT) for objectives, with full CBT implementation (objectives + essay) by May/June 2026, aiming to reduce exam fraud.

WAEC Introduces Customised Question Papers to Tackle Exam Malpractice Across West Africa

West Africa — In a landmark move aimed at restoring credibility to public examinations, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the launch of customised question papers for individual candidates across the region. This new measure is designed to combat examination malpractice, which has plagued the system for years. The initiative, revealed during a high-level briefing with secondary school principals, will be implemented in select subjects, including English Language (Papers 1 & 3), Biology 1, Mathematics 1, and Economics 1. Under the new system, each student will receive a uniquely generated question paper tied directly to their personalised Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet. WAEC officials explained that the policy is structured to undermine the foundations of malpractice—namely impersonation, collusion, and leaked questions—by ensuring no two candidates have the same set of exam questions. In situations where a candidate’s customised paper is unavailable, ...

In a proud moment for Nigerian football, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Remo Stars Football Club for clinching the 2024–2025 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) title — a first in the club’s history. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the team for their "hard work, discipline, and unyielding spirit," noting that their journey to victory was marked by persistence through several near-misses. "Remo Stars’ courage in pushing forward despite three previous heartbreaks in the race for the title is truly admirable. I hope their story inspires other clubs across the country to keep striving toward greatness," Tinubu said. Special commendation was also reserved for Kunle Soname, the club’s owner and chairman, whose investments — particularly the construction of a modern stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State — have fueled the club’s rise and helped develop grassroots football in Nigeria. ...
