Tinubu Reaffirms Dedication to Nigerian Workers’ Welfare on May Day

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian workers, highlighting their indispensable role in national development and economic progress.

In a message shared on his official X account, President Tinubu paid tribute to the nation’s workforce on the occasion of Workers’ Day. He referred to them as the “engine of our economy,” while assuring Nigerians that his government remains steadfast in its mission to improve workers' lives.

“Our administration has and will continue to prioritise workers’ welfare. Together, we will make Nigeria great again,” the president wrote.

The message extended appreciation to all workers—young and old, entrepreneurs and employees, private and public sector professionals—whose daily efforts, he said, significantly contribute to the growth and stability of families, communities, and the nation at large.

The President’s tribute also underscored the government’s ongoing efforts in economic reform, infrastructure investment, and labour-friendly policies aimed at lifting the quality of life for Nigerian workers.

This message aligns with Tinubu's broader development agenda, which has focused on inclusive growth, job creation, and fostering a more equitable and productive labour environment. His administration continues to engage with organised labour on strategies to ease economic hardship and improve working conditions across sectors.

President Tinubu’s May Day statement serves as both a reassurance and a rallying call, encouraging workers to remain steadfast in their commitment to national progress while affirming that their welfare remains a top priority of the federal government.
