Peller Claims Asisat Oshoala Ignored Him After WAFCON Win

Nigerian entertainer, Peller , has voiced his disappointment over the silence from Super Falcons players, particularly star striker Asisat Oshoala , following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco . The Super Falcons secured their 10th continental title in a dramatic 3-2 comeback against host nation Morocco at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium . The victory came despite Nigeria trailing 2-0 early in the match, with a spirited second-half performance turning the game in their favor. To celebrate their achievement, President Bola Tinubu rewarded each player with $100,000, a three-bedroom apartment under the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme, and the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). However, Peller alleges that since the win, his attempts to reach out to the team have gone unanswered. Speaking in a recent livestream, he claimed that Oshoala and several players have ignored his messages for over two weeks. “I texted Asisat Oshoala since two...

Kumuyi Rejects Pressure Over Successor Selection

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church , Pastor William Kumuyi , has firmly stated that no one will dictate the choice or timing of his successor, declaring that the decision rests solely with God. Speaking during a Bible study programme , the 83-year-old church leader responded to a remark made by a member suggesting the need for a successor. He warned that any attempt to pressure him into naming one would be outrightly rejected, adding that even his wife cannot influence such a decision. “The brother who taught the other Tuesday kept saying there is no leadership without a successor. He said it twice. I felt that was too much, more so since your father is still here. God will give a successor at His own time,” Kumuyi said. He further stated: “You are not going to fight your shepherd, your pilot. I reject any member of the church, whether you are a worker, choir member, or security person, who tries to control me. I won’t even take that from my wife because I...

Lawmaker Gives WAEC 7-Day Ultimatum Over Withheld Results

A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), demanding the release of the 2025 WASSCE results withheld from over 192,000 candidates due to alleged exam malpractice. Hon. Ogah, who represents Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, expressed strong dissatisfaction with WAEC's decision, describing it as a deliberate act of sabotage against Nigerian youths. He stated that many affected candidates are at risk of missing university admissions and could be pushed into negative societal behaviors if their results remain withheld. “It is very unfortunate that after writing both WAEC and JAMB, candidates are now being denied access to their results on flimsy excuses. This action will prevent them from gaining admission and could push them into societal vices,” Ogah said. He further argued that if malpractice was truly observed, disciplinary actions should have been taken dur...
